Intro to DLSR

For 2019 Intro to DSLR tuition will be available on a 1-to-1 basis.

If you want to start getting more from your Digital SLR, Mirrorless or Bridge camera then this half-day 1-on-1 workshop is for you.

You’ll learn how to understand the different modes and functions of your camera in a 1-on-1 environment which ensures you won’t be overlooked or lost in the shuffle of a bigger group.

Topics include Aperture, Shutter Speed, Exposure, Composition, Camera Modes and more. The class starts with an informal classroom session where we will cover all you need to know before we head outdoors to put our learning into practice with structured, practical exersises. The 1-to-1 format also allows us to delve into specific areas of interest to you.

Tuition is with Graham Dargie, a professional photographer based in Aberdeen.

“Hi, I’m Graham Dargie. I’ve been a professional photographer since 2005 and I’ve been teaching photography since 2009. I lead photography safaris to Kenya, tours of Skye as well as local classes, workshops and events here in Aberdeen. Photography has brought me to so many amazing experiences over the years and I love sharing what I’ve learned. Check my blog for loads of photography advice and why not try my 3 Steps to Better Photographs taster session if you’d like to find out more about what I do.”

“It was really inspiring to talk with someone who is so intelligent and passionate about what they do, and you’ve certainly increased my interest and motivation for photography, so thank you so much!” – M. Chilton, 1-to-1 Tuition

“His knowledge and way of teaching really helped us to explore a new and higher level of photogrphy. We highly recommend Graham’s workshops for everyone who wants learn more about photography.” – M. Wincent and L.  Hulden from Karlstad, Sweden. 1-to-1 Tuition

“In Graham you have a tutor who is willing to take time to explain the subject and encourages you to try new things.” – K. Dawson, Skye Landscape Weekend

“I was on Graham’s March trip to Skye and the whole weekend surpassed my expectations from the travel, accommodation, tuition and locations. Graham has a fantastic approach to his tuition and made sure I got all the classic shots of Skye I was wanting. I would highly recommend this trip no matter what level you’re at.” – S. Dobson, Skye Landscape Weekend

“From our arrival in Nairobi and through to the end of the trip I was able to relax and just enjoy the experience.  The team that you have gathered plus the hotel staff made the holiday an unforgettable experience,  indeed the holiday of a lifetime. Despite having some expertise in photography, I learned a lot from you and there are some shots that I can now take on, that I previously would have been clueless to tackle.  I have been applying those lessons since getting back to Aberdeen and its nice to have extra skills acquired on such a memorable trip.” I. Booth, Maasai Mara Photo Safari
