Blue Hour at Ashness Jetty, Derwentwater
The Lake District is some 6 hours by car from my home in Aberdeen but when my family and I were in the area recently I took the opportunity to sneak away and visit a couple of locations at beautiful Derwentwater.
In the first of 2 videos I visit Ashness Jetty. It’s a cracking little location and I tried to get there before sunrise to capture an atmospheric Blue Hour shot of the pier stretching away into the calm loch…. I mean lake!
Did I get the shot I came for and would I survive the fearsome local ducks who were making their presence felt throughout the shoot? Find out in this week’s episode!
Stick with it to the end of the video to see how I edited my favourite shot from the day in Lightroom.
On this shoot I used my legendary Nikon D810, my newly-repaired Nikon 24-70mm lens, ny Nikon 16-35mm lens, Manfrotto tripod, Hoya polarising filter and Lee Filters Little Stopper 6 Stop ND Filter.
